Your Human Rights.

What are Human Rights?
Human rights are the basic rights given to you as a human. You don’t have to buy them. You don’t have to ask for them. You don’t have to apply for them. They are yours unconditionally. And they are 30 of them in all.

The Sci-Fi Film of the Year – as far as I’m concerned

Title: G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra (2009)
Produced by: Paramount Pictures
Country: US
Directed by: Stephen Sommers
Producers: Lorenzo di Bonaventura
Bob Duscay
Brian Goldner
Featuring: Channing Tatum
Marlon Wayans
Rachel Nichols
Ray Park
Christopher Eccleston
Sienna Miller
Dennis Quaid
Rating: US [PG-13]; UK [12A]; CA [14A/PG]; AU [M]; JP [G]; TW [護] IAR [12-MV]
Genre: Sci-Fi Action.

Basically it’s based on the G.I. Joe franchise – Channing Tatum plays Conrad Hauser who heads a special team we recruited to transport a nanotech weapon. Anyway it turns out that the creator, James McCullen, has other plans in his diabolical mind.

No kidding I truly love this film. It’s so much better than Transformers! There!!! Anybody who disagrees can suck my t****!

It’s yet another comic book action movie – however, this film contains more intense violence as compared to Spiderman or Transformers. For example, the first scene where McCullen’s ancestor got a red hot iron mask fused onto his face. There’s also more hack and slash, which appears to be more intense than expected.

Nonetheless, it’s a truly cool movie and I bet you won’t regret watching.

New House at Stapok

Just recently moved into our new house at Stapok (near the Sungai Maong Methodist Church). It's really cool, and i've finally had the opportunity to share it with you guys.

MY ROOM

SISTER'S ROOM

MASTER ROOM
The sitting room with a 40" Full-HD LCD TV and home theatre system... The way i like it.

All-in-all, i'm pretty contented with the layout of the room. All we need now is the ASTRO to be hooked up and the indispensible internet connection - hopefully we'll use WiMAX.

That's pretty much it, it's not all big and whatnot, but it's good enough for us four.

Remy's Birthday

Last saturday, the 11th of july was Remy's birthday... To celebrate, we (me, jesz and paul) brought him and his sister out to dinner. Joining us at dinner that nite were his cousin Isaac, cousin Andy, and fren Jacob.

The dinner at Sun Delight was nice... but we forgot to take pictures... then again, it's nuthing to brag about.

After that, Remy's sister Dewi was deciding our next destination. After much deliberation on the price, we finally went for Mojo.

As you can see, everyone had fun at Mojo, we started with a couple jugs of Tequila Sunrise. and then Dewi ordered another...
-_-|||

the nite ended with plenty of fun and laughter, we all wished Remy a magnificent 22nd birthday - too bad the only thing missing was the cake... awwww~

Think Before You Take a Job

Title: The Nanny Diaries (2007)
Produced by: The Weinstein Company
Country: US
Directed by: Shari Springer Berman
Robert Pulcini
Producers: Richard N. Gladstein
Featuring: Scarlett Johansson
Chris Evans
Alicia Keys
Laura Linney
Paul Giamatti
Donna Murphy
Nicholas Art
Rating: US [PG-13]; UK [12A]; CA [14A]; AU [M]; JP [PG-12]; TW [普] IAR [PG-L]
Genre: Comedy.

Anne has just graduated from Harvard. She’s a little lost on her tracks and during a chance meeting finds herself on an inevitable road to being a nanny for an Upper-East Side family in Manhattan. In the process, she finds herself tied with strict rules and an appalling work situation. It is down to her to get herself up on track again and get some sense back.

What I like about this movie is that it is a good comedy. And if you know me well enough, you’ll know that I “loves za good comeedee”. To be honest, there’s nothing that actually stand out in the movie. Flatly, it’s just a really good comedy.

Heroes Volume 4: Fugitives [LINKED]

Warning: This post contains some spoilers for Heroes Volume 4.

Have you started catching up on the latest season of Heroes? NO?!!! What the hell are you doing? Get off that seat and start doing something! Heroes Season 4 premiered on NBC in the US sometime in mid-February and it is now all the hype.

I’ll try not to give much away at this – besides, I’ve only watched three episodes so far.

Okay, firstly, it’s called ‘Fugitives’ – for a good reason. Apparently, it turns out that Nathan Petrelli is behind a major government operation to capture and imprison everyone who has a power. Noah Bennet is also in on the operation – to protect Claire, so to speak.
Font size
Hence, everyone is running, Peter, Matt, Hiro, Ando, Mohinder. While the gang is trying to get down onto the affair, Tracy Strauss on the other hand, is the first being successfully captured and she’s in deep doodoo. There’s also a newcomer, a cocky, government agent-looking guy with a Southern accent (played by Željko Ivanek).

Oooh! And Sylar’s back – I hate to disappoint Sylar haters, but you’ve gotta give it to the producers, they really know who to keep in their show. Well, Sylar’s kinda nice (doesn’t mean he stopped killing) he’d just moved it down the list a little. His main goal now is to find his real father. To help Sylar, is a 17 year-old boy with roughly the same f-ed up mentality: lost dad at a young age, wonders why he turns out the way he did. And btw, the boy has the power to heat things up pretty fast.

Not a Very Guy-friendly Movie

Title: Hard Candy (2006)
Produced by: Lionsgate Pictures
Country: US
Directed by: David Slade
Producers: Rosanne Korenberg
Featuring: Patrick Wilson
Ellen Page
Sandra Oh
Jennifer Holmes
Gilbert John
Rating: US [R]; UK [18]; CA [18A]; AU [R 18+]; JP [R-18]; IAR [18-LMPSV]
Genre: Psychological thriller.

A photographer, Jeff, meets a teenage girl, Haley, through an online chatting site. After three weeks of chatting, Jeff finally agrees to meet Haley for coffee. Little did he know that he will be going into a desperate struggle to stay alive as Haley (awfully insane and very angry – the way I see it) ties him up and do “things” to him.

This film is really scary – not because it’s a horror film – rather because it’s very disturbing and just gives chills down your back. I don’t know who actually came out with the idea of such an idea for a movie, but he/she has gotta be pretty messed up. The main focus of this film is that Haley pins the notion that Jeff is a paedophile murderer, and she’s making him “pay” for his alleged “shortcoming”.

Okay, okay, you must be thinking why I am being such a girl bout it. Well, I don’t wanna give the plot away but there’s a point where someone gets castrated. For once, I think this film is not suitable for anyone who’s male. So there, if you do watch, be prepared.

A Very "Al Gore" Movie

Title: The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008)
Produced by: 20th Century Fox
Country: US
Directed by: Scott Derrickson
Producers: Erwin Stoff
Paul Harris Boardman
Featuring: Keanu Reeves
Jennifer Connelly
Jaden Smith
John Cleese
Kathy Bates
Rating: US [PG-13]; UK [12A]; CA [14A]; AU [M]; JP [PG-12]; TW [護]; IAR [12-MV]
Genre: Sci-Fi. Remake of the 1951 film with the same name.

Alright, it’s a pretty simple and straightforward story. This little alien came to Earth, this little alien landed in Manhattan, this little alien is hunted down, and this little alien cried wee- wee- wee- about killing the human species. So this astrobiologist lady is suppose to help him – but after she finds out that his job on Earth was literally to tell us that we’ve been binned, she begs him to save the world. Pretty deep stuff, yet I always find sci-fi a little silly.

This movie has a fair share of suspense and intrigue definitely. The idea that our Earth has been monitored by larger civilizations in the universe is truly a cool subject matter in sci-fi. Then again, this story is a little – I dunno – simple. Well, okay, maybe I’m used to the twist and turns and shocking revelations in most of the current movies.

Nonetheless, bearing in mind that it’s actually a remake of a film in the 1950s, I must say this film is pretty cool. And as far as it goes, it’s does make a good weekend film to chill out on.
